Artista / Artist

Nació en la Ciudad de México en 1967. Cursó la licenciatura de Artes Visuales en la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plástica de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México UNAM y es egresado del Diplomado de Arte Contemporáneo en el Museo Rufino Tamayo. Es miembro de la Casa Fundación del Artista Plástico y de la Sociedad Mexicana de Autores de las Artes Plásticas SOMAAP desde 1998 donde actualmente es encargado de la Comisión de Enlace Legislativo. Su obra forma parte de colecciones como la del Instituto del Derecho de Asilo y las Libertades Públicas, Museo-Casa de León Trosky D.F.; la Casa de las Américas en La Habana, Cuba; la Galería Zurriola en San Sebastián-Donosti en el País Vasco y en el Ayuntamiento de Pessac en Burdeos, Francia. Obtuvo Mención Honorífica en la 1ª Bienal de Pintura Latinoamericana y del Caribe 2002. Es creador del grabado monumental más grande del país. Es miembro fundador del “Taller de Gráfica Leopoldo Méndez” de la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, UNAM desde 2003. Fue creador del suplemento y gaceta cultural Arte-co 30-30 Tepoztlán, Morelos y colaborador del suplemento El Farolito del Diario la Jornada de Morelos. Es muralista, grabador, fotógrafo, serigrafista, museógrafo, diseñador gráfico y alfabetizador. Es creador del taller de Graffiti-Mural “Otro Graffiti en la Pared” impartido en la Delegación Tlalpan. Ha participado como ponente en distintos foros sobre cultura ha nivel nacional. Ha sido maestro en el Museo Universitario de Ciencias y Artes MUCA, UNAM; pertenece al colectivo de artistas plásticos “Arte en Guerra Contra la Guerra”; es miembro fundador de la “Sociedad de Artistas Lúdicos” y fundador del Movimiento de Muralistas Mexicanos.
Con un amplio  record  de exposiciones  Individuales,  exposiciones colectivas , obras muralistas, obras escenográficas, fotografía, videos  e instalaciones;   a nivel  nacional  e internacional.

Polo Castellanos

Polo was born in Mexico City in 1967. He completed the degree of Visual Arts of the National School of Plastic Arts at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and has received a diploma of contemporary arts from the Rufino Tamayo Museum. Polo is a member of the House Foundation of Plastic Arts and the Mexican Society Plastic Artists (SOMAAP) since 1998 where he is currently responsible for the Commission of Legislative Liaison. His works form part of collections at the Institute of “Derecho de Asilo y la Libertades Publicas”, Museum-House of Leon Trosky in Mexico City, The House of the Americas in Havana, Cuba, the Zurriola Gallery in San Sebastian-Donosti, Basque and in the Pessac City Hall in Bordeaux, France. He received honourable mention in the first biennial of Latin American and Caribbean painting in 2002.  He is the creator of the largest monumental engraving in Mexico. Polo is a founding member of Taller de Grafica Leopoldo Mendez of the National School of Plastic Arts, UNAM since 2003. He was the creator of the supplement and cultural gazette Arte-co 30-30 Tepoztlan, Morelos and collaborator of the supplement El Farolito del Diario la Jornada de Morelos. Polo is a muralist, engraver, photographer, “serigrafista” “ museografo”, graphic designer and teacher. He is the creator of the work of the Mural “Otro Graffiti en la Pared”  located in the municipality of Tlalpan. He has participated as a presenter in distinct forums about culture at the national level. He is a teacher at the University Museum of Sciences and Arts (MUCA) at UNAM. Polo belongs to the group of plastic arts Arte en Guerra Contra la Guerra. He is also a founding member of the “Sociedad de Aristas Ludicos” and the founder of the Mexican Muralist Movement.

He has  a great  records  of  Solo  exhibitions,  Group Exhibitions, Murals, Scenic  Stage ,  Videos, Photography  and  Installations;   National  and  international  level.
