Guilloume

Guilloume is a master of "Bolismo," a self-described, emotion-filled style
using understated, modest forms and textures and subdued earth colors
to portray the vast range of human feelings. A Guilloume sculpture or
canvas is a dreamscape of memory and emotion where angels observe,
as human forms move gracefully through the most mundane of tasks.

Born in Colombia in 1957, Guilloume dedicated himself to the arts at an early age, completing his formal studies at Medellin's prestigious Bellas Artes
Institute in 1981.  He emigrated to the U.S. in 1986 and currently maintains a studio near Santa Fe, New Mexico (USA) where he casts mostly bronze humanoid sculptures and creates paintings using oil, watercolor, oil-pastel, pastel, pencil and ink to create his paintings.  Although he has only recently expanded his focus to include sculpture, Guilloume's creations have been singled out by Sculpture Magazine to place him among the 10 most important sculptors of our day.

His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Los Angeles,
Palm Desert(California), Scottsdale, Tucson Sedona(Arizona),Santa Fe, and Albuquerque(NewMexico)Seattle(Washingtong),Austin,Dallas(Texas)
Shaboygan Fall(Wisconsin),Florence (Italy)Toronto(Canada),Copenhagen(Dinamarca), as well as in his native Colombia.

"When I look at a person, I see beyond the persona and the temporary attributes of age, beauty and style.  It is there that I find the circles and roundish forms (Bolismo) that create the essence of the human figure."
