Artist & Art educator
Andrea Lambert was born in 1976 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At age 13 her parents moved to Canada. She has lived in Toronto since then. Andrea Lambert began her studies at the Claude Watson Program for the Arts at Earl Haig Secondary School. She later attended York University where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. Soon after graduation she decided to study at the University of Toronto to obtain her degree in Education, specializing in the Visual Arts.
In September of 2000, Andrea traveled to Italy for a year to teach visual arts at the International School of Trieste.
Andrea has worked in a variety of media such as sculpture, printmaking, installation, drawing, and painting. Her favourite medium is however, acrylic on canvas. Her style can be described as figurative, expressionistic, and sometimes abstract. Her themes range from social commentaries to autobiographies. Her latest works deal with concepts of isolation, memory, and loss of identity.
Andrea Lambert is currently working for the Toronto District School Board as a Visual Arts Teacher.
