NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL INVITATION TO LATIN AMERICAN VISUAL ARTISTS
We invite Latin American artists, resident in Canada and the exterior, working in the visual arts, professionals and amateurs, in the fields of painting, sculpture, photography, drawing and engraving to participate in the Fifth Annual National and International Exhibition of the Visual Arts “LATINOAMERICA 2010” to be held at the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery in September 2010. The Events Committee of Fundarte Latinomerica will organize this event.
As is well known by the artists who participated in Latinoamerica 2004, Latinoamerica 2005, Mosaico Art Exhibition, Latinoamerica 2006, Latinoamerica 2007, Korean and Latin Art Exhibition, International Contemporary Fine Art Canada Exhibition, Latinoamerica 2008 and Latinoamerica 2009; these events will lead to the First Biennial of Latin American Visual Arts in Canada, and will lay the legal, economic and administrative foundations that will guarantee the quality and transparency required for the Biennial. Once we have completed the First Biennial, we will move towards the creation of our Latin American Cultural Centre and de Latin American Museum for the Visual Arts in Canada, based in Toronto where the first works to be displayed will be the winning works from the First Biennial.
The 7th Annual Exhibition of Latin American Art “Latinoamerica 2010” will be curated, using an admissions jury will be at a national and international level. Fundarte reserves the right to invite artists that live outside of Canada. As well, for this 7th Edition, Fundarte will invite Canadian artists and those of other, non Latin American, nationalities. The jury will select art works from 50 artists maximum. (for space reasons “installations” will not be included). A colour catalogue will be designed and a participation certificate as well.
The basis and specifications for registration will be immediately provided to those artists who confirm their interest in participating. Information will be disseminated through the Latin American media (radio, television and newspapers) as well as through our web page (under construction) that will shortly be the centre for all Latin American artists at the national and international level who desire to participate.
